Participate in the Hiker Project!

The Hiker Project maintains several mailing lists for developers and others interested in mobile open source software to communicate with one another, share ideas, success stories, patches and improvements.

The hiker-dev mailing list is intended for developers to discuss bugs,submit patches and feature improvements, discuss use cases, share success stories and "gotcha's", and so on.
The hiker-general mailing list is intended for other issues, not necessarily development-related.
The hiker-news mailing list (low-volume) is intended to send out general alerts, updates, news items of general interest, etc.

You can subscribe to any of these, and manage your subscription, using the web-based interface behind the links above. After you submit your subscription request, you will receive a confirmation email from the list's "request" address with which you can complete your subscription request. If you do not see it within a reasonable time, you should check to see whether it was treated as junk mail by your email program.

The lists are unmoderated, but reasonable adult behavior is expected of participants. Monthly reminder messages about your subscription and general list "netiquette" will be distributed.

A note from on submissions from Lefty and ACCESS: We are currently working very hard on the larger context within which we are using the Hiker framework components, our ACCESS Linux Platform product. Currently, we are actively using these components with a small group of selected developers and licensees, and our more general release is planned for the first half of 2007. Until then, our ability to incorporate externally-submitted changes, patches, etc.into the Hiker components, other than to address critical bugs, is going to be limited.
